1978 - The Nashua brand of photocopiers commenced being sold into the Newcastle and Central Coast region. In 1983 a new salesman, Gerard Maher, the current owner of Pivotal Business Systems, commenced working for this company, Supreme Office Supplies. At this time the Nashua brand was one of the leading photocopier companies in the world. Over time the Nashua brand was purchased and became part of the Ricoh range of brands, which also include Gestetner, Rex-Rotary and infotec. The Nashua brand is most remembered for its iconic advertising campaign that featured famous Hollywood actor and director, Orson Welles. Watch the video here.

1984 - Nashua commenced selling directly into the Newcastle and Central Coast region by establishing their own offices in Newcastle and Gosford and became known as Nashuatec Newcastle.
1985 - Nashua sold their direct sales operations and Steve Cullen purchased the rights to be the Nashuatec dealer in Newcastle, Hunter Region and the Central Coast.
1993 - The Nashua brand integrated into the Ricoh Corporation with the Newcastle region dealership being purchased by Phil Pailthorp and rebranded as Ricoh Business Centre.

1999 - The dealership was purchased by current owner Gerard Maher who had been a salesman in the Nashua dealership 16 years prior. He also established an office in Singleton to service the Hunter region. The product range also went through major changes during this period moving from being stand-alone analogue photocopiers and separate single function printers, faxes and scanners to digital networkable multi-function copiers that could copy, print, fax and scan in a compact single footprint.

2010 - The business expanded further into regional NSW when Gerard purchased Brian Cox Electronic Services in Tamworth. Brian had been servicing the Tamworth region for almost 20 years supplying office products such as copiers and printers as well as cash registers. Brian’s son Luca still works for Pivotal Business Systems as the lead technician in Tamworth.
2011 - The business expanded again with the purchase of Hastings Office Equipment, which had served the Port Macquarie region for over 20 years. When acquiring businesses continuation of key staff is always important - in Port our head technician Alan Witchard is still with the business having started with Hastings Office Equipment over 30 years ago.
2012 - Owner Gerard Maher continued to grow the business and it expanded from being just a Ricoh hardware dealer to a “Business Technology Services Provider”. This saw the addition of Business Process Optimisation, Managed Print Services and the expansion of the Point Of Sales (POS) product lines into new digital POS systems. This resulted in the addition of specialist staff and the need for a name change to better reflect the scope of the business, so Ricoh Business Centre become Pivotal Business Systems.

2016 - To strengthen the business as a Business Technology Services Provider Pivotal Business Systems purchased Andor Systems Pty Ltd in November 2016, a Newcastle based specialist company that provides IT Services across the Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter regions. Andor has serviced the region for over 30 years delivering excellent levels of support in the Managed I.T. space including:
